The refresher Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A- VI/1-2.
Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course should be able te take proper actions upon discovering a fire, to protect themselves with existing fire-fighting equipment within their workarea and to understand the importance of fire prevention.

- Shipboard fire-fighting organization;
- Location of fire-fighting appliances and emergency escape routes;
- The elements of fire and explosion (the fire triangle);
- Types and sources of ignition;
- Flammable materials, fire hazards and spread of fire;
- actions to be taken on board the ship;

The personal Survival Techniques Refresher course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/1-1.
Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course receive an essential update to their theoretical knowledge and practical skills on how to perform an emergency abandonment with or without a life raft.
Course Content
- Life rafts types and content. Lifeboat handling;
- Lifejackets, survival suits use and donning;
- Flares and other emergency beacons;
- Hypothermia;
- Practical: abandonment, individual and group entry;
- Practical: righting a capsized raft;
- Practical: rescue and survival techniques without a life raft;
