By the end of the course, you are expected to be able to:

  • analyse and integrate business and economic issues relating to port management and policy in a scientifically sound manner;
  • understand complex and current challenges in ports and place them within the appropriate context;

Programme Structure

This course aims to provide a thorough understanding of the various aspects related to port activities. Participants will learn how principles and practices of port management fit within the broader framework of global transport systems.

The course also introduces the key elements of port policy at both the European level and the level of individual states, within and beyond Europe.

The programme is divided into three parts: the market environment of seaports, port management, and port policy.
