Language courses

If you go abroad and the courses are given in a language you do not master sufficiently, you need to follow a language course in advance. This requires some preparation before you go. Most institutes require a language level B1 or B2. Some students prefer to go at an institute that offer courses in English. The courses Maritime English at AMA results in an English level B2.

The programme

The Erasmus+ Online Linguistic Support (OLS) supports language learning for Erasmus+ mobility participants. The OLS is available in 24 languages, including NL (Dutch), FR (French) and EN (English). The coordinator internationalisation can give you an account. You can also follow a language course at for example Linguapolis (https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/centres/linguapolis/). An alternative would be to depart earlier and follow a language course abroad. That period will be included in your Erasmus stay.

Application and selection procedure

  1. Contact the Coordinator Internationalization of the Antwerp Maritime Academy in case you want to learn a language before you go abroad.
  2. The Coordinator Internationalization will create a license for you.
