The Cargo Handling AII/2 course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-II/2.

Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence and knowledge regarding the handling of cargo on board a ship, and to plan and ensure safe loading, stowage, securing and care during the voyage and unloading of cargoes.

• Knowledge and the ability to apply relevant international regulations, codes and standards concerning the safe handling, stowage, securing and transport of cargoes.
• Knowledge of the effect on trim and stability of cargoes and cargo operation.
•  Use of stability and trim diagrams and stress-calculating equipment, including automatic data-based (ADB) equipment, and knowledge of loading cargoes and ballasting in order to keep hull stress within acceptable limits.
• Loading and unloading operations, with special regard to the transport of cargoes indentified in the Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing.
•  General knowledge of tankers and tanker operations.
•  Ability to explain the basic principles for establishing effective communications and improving working relationship between ship and terminal personnel.
• Knowledge of the operational and design limitations of bulk carriers

The ECDIS 5-day course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-II/1 and A-II/2. Taking the IMO Model Course 1.27 as a guideline.

Those who succesfully complete this course should be able to maintain the safety of navigation through the use of ECDIS and associated navigation systems to assist command decision making.

• Management of operational procedures, system files and data, including
• Manage procurement, licensing and updating of chart data and system software to conform to established procedures
• System and information updating, including the ability to update ECDIS system version in accordance with vendor's product development
• Create and maintain system configuration and backup files
• Create and maintain log files in accordance with established procedures
• Create and maintain route plan files in accordance with established procedures
• Use ECDIS logbook and track history functions for inspection of system functions, alarm settings and user responses

Those who succesfully complete this course should be able te take proper actions upon discovering a fire, to protect themselves with existing fire-fighting equipment within their workarea and to understand the importance of fire prevention.

The GMDSS GOC (General Radio Operator's Certificate) course has been designed to meet the

Those who succesfully complete this course and pass the BIPT examination should be able to

efficiently operate the GMDSS equipment and to have primary responsibility for radiocommunications

during distress incidents.

The RADAR-ARPA for All course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-II/2. Taking the IMO Model Course 1.08 as a guideline.

Those who succesfully complete this course will have fulfilled the mandatory minimum requirements of training in the use of radar and ARPA to maintain safety of navigation. The training is provided at management level.
