To secure approval for studying at the Antwerp Maritime Academy, you will need to complete a few important steps. Follow the outlined process below to ensure a smooth application and transition.
Send us an email: Your home institution's International Office informs Antwerp Maritime Academy's Coordinator Internationalisation (international@hzs.be) about your Erasmus+ selection. We assume that your level of English is sufficient to follow the courses and to interact with fellow students and lecturers. The deadline for applications is: (1) 31 May for the first semester of the academic year, and (2) 30 November for the second semester of the academic year
Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records: We need you to provide 4 documents: (1) a copy of your identity card or passport, (2) European Health Insurance Card, (3) the Learning Agreement and (4) your Transcript of Records which allows us to check your preliminary acquired competences. The learning agreement between you and the 2 institutions (home and host institution) must be finalised before you depart your home country. This document describes the proposed study-abroad programme. The learning agreement can be revised during your stay in Antwerp but must be formally approved by all 3 parties. Send all documents to international@hzs.be.
Preparation of your stay: Once the learning agreement has been signed by all parties you can prepare your stay in Antwerp. Note that you will need to look for accommodation yourself.
Welcome meeting: The Coordinator Internationalisation will welcome you on your arrival at Antwerp Maritime Academy and deal with all the required administrative tasks, such as your Certificate of Arrival, student card, etc.
Enjoy your stay: Enjoy your studies and your stay in Antwerp. Do not hesitate to contact the Coordinator Internationalisation should a problem arise! If there are overlaps in your schedule or if you decide to follow other courses, the Learning Agreement can be changed.
Results at the Antwerp Maritime Academy: At the end of the academic year (award ceremony), your results from Antwerp Maritime Academy will be sent to you and to the International Office of your home institution.
