Medical First Aid
The Medical First Aid course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/4-1.
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board, identify and treat medical emergencies, treat dislocations, fractures,.. Etc.

Objective

Course Content
- Immediate action and first aid kit;
- Body structure and functions;
- Toxicological hazards aboard ship;
- Examination of patient and medical care of rescued persons, including distress, hypothermia
- and cold exposure;
- Spinal injuries, burns, scalds, effects of heat and cold, fractures, dislocations and muscular
- injuries;
- Radio medical advice;
- Pharmacology;
