The programme is recognised by the Belgian Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport.

*Required seagoing service and training (STCW Regulation III/6)

Entry requirements

Duration

850 contact hours

Price

The complete programme costs €26,550. Alternatively, the fee can be paid per module, plus a one-time administration fee of €250. Module prices can be found on the individual module pages.

The fee includes course material, certificate, the Training Record Book, lunch and refreshments (coffee and water).

Accommodation is not included.

Exemptions

The programme is offered in separate modules, so candidates with relevant prior knowledge or experience can apply for exemption from one or more modules.

Each application is assessed individually on the basis of documented prior learning: previously obtained certificates and diplomas, and competences acquired through professional experience. The assessment may include an interview and a written and/or practical test. Exemptions are granted per module by the AMA assessment committee, and the decision is communicated in writing, stating the reasons.

Exempted candidates pay only for the modules they attend, at the published price per module, plus the €250 administration fee.

All competences of STCW Table A-III/6 must be covered, either by completing the modules or through granted exemptions. An exemption releases the candidate from attending the module concerned at AMA; it does not affect the other conditions for obtaining the Certificate of Competency, which are set by the maritime administration.
